Hire Movers by the Hour

Hourly moving labor means you pay for crew time rather than a flat package. Every company on Hire Moving Labor sets its own hourly rate per crew size and its own minimum, so comparing them side by side is the simplest way to find a lower-cost option for your job.

Hire Moving Labor is a marketplace. Independent companies set their own prices and provide labor only — you arrange the truck or container.

Current provider rates on the marketplace

Across 19 currently bookable companies listed here, starting hourly crew rates range from $60 to $175. This is not a national market average or a quote for your move. Availability depends on your address, service, date and arrival window.

Rates are set by independent moving companies and can change. Hourly labor rates do not include Hire Moving Labor’s separate Service Processing Fee or applicable add-ons.

How hourly billing is built

An hourly estimate has a few parts:

Parts of an hourly moving labor estimate
PartWhat it means
Crew rateThe company's hourly price for the crew size you choose.
Minimum hoursThe shortest booking the company accepts; you pay at least this.
Billable hoursYour expected hours or the minimum, whichever is higher.
Stairs and specialty itemsCharges some companies add for flights or heavy pieces.
Service Processing FeeHire Moving Labor's separate fee, shown in the estimate.

Bigger crew or more hours?

A larger crew costs more per hour but may finish sooner. For a small load, two movers over the minimum may be enough. For a full house, a third or fourth mover can keep the job from stretching late. The calculator lets you try both.

Keep the clock working for you

Have everything packed, reserve parking, and disassemble beds you can handle yourself. Time spent waiting on the crew's end — for keys, elevators or a late truck — is still crew time.
