Terms & Conditions

1. The marketplace
Hire Moving Labor operates an online marketplace that connects customers with independent moving service providers. Providers listed on Hire Moving Labor are separate, independently owned businesses. They are not employees, agents, or subcontractors of Hire Moving Labor, and they are responsible for the labor services they perform.
2. Booking and payment
- Customers book and pay through Hire Moving Labor, not directly with the crew.
- When you submit a booking request, your card is authorized for the estimated job total. An authorization is a hold, not a charge.
- If the provider accepts the request, the authorized amount is captured and the job is confirmed.
- If the provider declines, or the acceptance window passes without a response, the request expires and the authorization is released. Depending on your bank, it can take a few business days for the hold to disappear from your statement.
- Provider payouts are handled through Stripe Connect. Hire Moving Labor retains a marketplace commission from each completed job and transfers the remaining balance to the provider after the customer confirms the job is complete.
- Prices shown are estimates based on crew size, hours, stairs, and any specialty services selected. Actual job conditions may differ; any change in scope should be raised through the platform.
3. Cancellations and refunds
- Before a provider accepts, a request can be cancelled at no cost and the payment authorization is released.
- After a provider has accepted and payment has been captured, a customer may submit a cancellation request. Approved cancellations are subject to a 15% cancellation fee calculated on the captured amount; the remaining balance is refunded to the original payment method. A portion of the cancellation fee is passed to the provider to compensate for the reserved time, and the remainder is retained by the marketplace.
- Refund timing depends on your bank or card issuer.
4. Marketplace and provider responsibilities
- Hire Moving Labor provides the platform: matching, scheduling, messaging, payment processing, receipts, and dispute support.
- Providers are responsible for performing the labor, showing up on schedule, maintaining their own insurance and licensing where required, and complying with applicable law.
- Customers are responsible for accurate job details, safe site access, and being available at the scheduled time.
- Issues with a completed or in-progress job can be raised through the complaint tools in your dashboard, and our team will review them.
5. Reviews
Reviews may only be submitted by the customer who booked a job, only after that job is marked complete, and only once per booking. Reviews must be truthful and relate to the actual service performed. We may remove reviews that are fraudulent, abusive, or violate these terms.
6. Accounts and prohibited use
- You are responsible for the accuracy of your account information and for keeping your credentials secure.
- You may not use the platform for fraud, payment circumvention, impersonation, scraping, harassment, or any unlawful purpose.
- Arranging payment outside the platform to avoid marketplace fees is prohibited and may result in account suspension.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
7. SMS notifications
By opting in to SMS notifications, you agree to receive transactional text messages from Hire Moving Labor related to your account, booking, provider activity, service updates, reminders, or payout notifications. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe or HELP for assistance. Consent to SMS is not a condition of purchasing or using Hire Moving Labor.
8. Changes and contact
We may update these terms and will change the date above when we do. Continued use of the platform means you accept the updated terms. Contact us at support@hiremovinglabor.com.
