Company labor
The provider’s hourly rate for your chosen crew size × billable hours, with its minimum hours applied. A two-mover crew is the smallest offered here. Compare the minimum labor amount, not just the hourly figure.
Other charges
Depending on the company and job, stairs and specialty items may add charges or require a custom quote. Hire Moving Labor’s customer Service Processing Fee is separate from the company’s labor rate. Applicable charges appear in your booking estimate.
Plan the job, then compare the total
Pack before the crew arrives when possible, choose a crew suited to the job, and describe stairs, long carries and heavy items accurately. More hours or additional work can change the final amount. A promotion reduces your estimate only when it is valid and applies to your booking; check the estimate for any discount actually included.
Searching for the cheapest way to hire movers or cheap moving labor? Compare the complete cost of providing your own transportation plus labor against your other options. Labor-only can be affordable when you need help with lifting but have transportation arranged; no option is always the least expensive.
Moving labor cost questions
- How much does moving labor cost?
- There is no single price. Independent companies set hourly rates for each crew size and minimum booking hours. Compare current listings and your full estimate for the job address and service you need.
- How are moving labor prices calculated?
- Estimated labor starts with the company's hourly crew rate multiplied by the billable hours, subject to its minimum hours. Applicable stairs or specialty charges and Hire Moving Labor’s separate Service Processing Fee are shown in the booking estimate.
- Is moving labor cheaper than full-service moving?
- Labor-only help can be an affordable option if you already have transportation arranged and need a crew for part of the move. Compare the complete costs of each option, including your truck or container, before deciding; no savings are guaranteed.
- Do I provide the moving truck?
- Yes. You arrange the rental truck, trailer, moving container or other transportation. Independent companies listed here provide labor, not a moving truck or driver.
- Can I hire movers just to load or unload my rental truck?
- Yes. Choose loading help, unloading help or both, then compare independent companies serving your job address. Tell them about access, stairs and heavy items so the estimate reflects the work.
- Are provider hourly rates the total price?
- Not necessarily. The hours billed may exceed the minimum, some jobs have applicable stairs or specialty charges, and Hire Moving Labor charges a separate Service Processing Fee. Review the full booking estimate before requesting a company.
- How do I compare moving labor prices?
- Compare each company's crew size, hourly rate and minimum hours, then compare the full estimated labor amount and any applicable charges. A lower hourly rate alone does not establish the lowest total for your job.
