Moving Help for Storage Units

Storage moves have their own quirks: gate codes, access hours, narrow corridors and units stacked floor to ceiling. Compare local crews that can load your truck from a unit, or fill one for you.

Hire Moving Labor is a marketplace. Independent companies set their own prices and provide labor only — you arrange the truck or container.

Current provider rates on the marketplace

Across 19 currently bookable companies listed here, starting hourly crew rates range from $60 to $175. This is not a national market average or a quote for your move. Availability depends on your address, service, date and arrival window.

Rates are set by independent moving companies and can change. Hourly labor rates do not include Hire Moving Labor’s separate Service Processing Fee or applicable add-ons.

Check the facility's rules first

  • Access hours and whether the crew needs to be on your gate list.
  • Where trucks may park and whether loading docks or carts are available.
  • Elevator access for upper-floor units.
  • Your unit number and lock — the crew can't open it without you.

Packing a unit to make the most of it

Large furniture against the back wall, boxes in stable stacks, an aisle down the middle if you'll need things later. A crew used to tight spaces can fit more in safely.

Combining with a home move

Loading and unloading in one request can cover a home and a storage unit when both are within the company's service area.
